A completely new residential care center with 117 rooms and 24 comfortable assisted living apartments situated in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek. The residence is located on the corner between Louis Mettewie avenue and Condor avenue. The compact volume of masonry, regularly alternating solids and voids, flanks the Louis Mettewie avenue and consists of 8 storeys. The facade is characterized by hollow elements and awnings, corresponding to the common and public parts. The balconies accentuate the top two floors. For the aesthetics of the large façades in masonry, particular attention was paid to their implementation. Slight variations in the implementation of the brick bring a second degree of reading to the composition. The ground floor and first basement floors are mainly used for reception and service areas. The rooms are located on the ground floor up to the fifth floor, while the assisted living apartments are accommodated on the sixth and seventh floor and have an independent access.
Gelegen in de gemeente Sint-Jans-Molenbeek betreft dit project de bouw van een een nieuw rusthuis met gespecialiseerde zorgen dat 117 individuele kamers omvat alsook 24 comfortabele en heldere assistentiewoningen. De residentie is ingeplant op de hoek van de Louis Mettewielaan en de Condorlaan. Aan de straatzijde vormt het gebouw een compact volume in gevelsteen met 8 bovengrondse verdiepingen die een afwisseling van open en gesloten delen vertonen.In de gevel wordt leven gebracht door terugspringende elementen en luifels, die de openbare of gemeenschappelijke delen benadrukken. De balkons accentueren de bovenste twee verdiepingen. Lichte variaties in de uitvoering van de gevelsteen brengen een discrete afwisseling in het uitzicht van het ontwerp. Het gelijkvloers en de eerste kelderverdieping worden voornamelijk ingevuld door het onthaal en de administratieve functies. De rusthuiskamers worden ingericht vanop het gelijkvloers tot op de vijfde verdieping. De assistentiewoningen bevinden zich op de zesde en de zevende verdieping en hebben ook een afzonderlijke toegang.
La Résidence est implantée à l’angle du boulevard Louis Mettewie et de l’avenue du Condor. Elle se présente à front de boulevard comme un volume compact en brique de 8 niveaux hors-sol présentant une alternance régulière de pleins et de vides. La façade est animée par des éléments en creux et des auvents correspondant aux zones publiques ou communes. Des balcons soulignent les deux derniers niveaux. De légères variations dans la mise-en-œuvre de la brique amènent un second degré de lecture à la composition. Le rez-de-chaussée et le premier sous-sol comportent essentiellement les zones d’accueil et de services. Les chambres sont réparties du rez-de-chaussée au 5 ème étage. Les suites se trouvent, quant à elles, aux 6 ème et 7 ème étages et bénéficient d’une entrée indépendante.

The west-facing rooms have a view on Louis Mettewie avenue, which is well equipped with stately trees and where the liveliness of the city is experienced. Furthermore, a nice view on Scheutbos parc can be enjoyed. The east-facing rooms open out onto a quieter residential area, offering a rather calm and serene view. Communal facilities are distributed on each floor, of these the most important is the "Grand Café". This café, with a large terrace, is not only accessible to the residents, but also to the entire neighbourhood. This is the vibrant heart of the residence. Additionally, a hair salon and a physio room can be found in the common areas. The residential care center presents also a large landscaped garden. The residence wishes to open up to the neighbourhood and the environment in which it is settled.

Zowel de kamers als de assistentiewoningen zijn aangesloten op het systeem voor afstandstoezicht (oproep verpleegster) van het rusthuis. Sommige kamers zijn westelijk georiënteerd en hebben uitzicht op de met bomen aangeplante Louis Mettewielaan met zijn stedelijke drukte, maar ook op de groene omgeving van het Scheutbos. Andere kamers zijn oostelijk georiënteerd en hebben zicht op een residentiele wijk met een eerder rustgevend karakter. Op elke verdieping zijn er gemeenschappelijke ruimtes voorzien, waarvan de belangrijkste, het “Grand Café” is. Deze ruimte is niet alleen toegankelijk voor de bewoners van het rusthuis maar ook voor de inwoners van de wijk en vormt het bruisend hart van de residentie. Deze gemeenschappelijke ruimtes, die een sociale en recreatieve functie hebben, zijn uitgerust met ruime terrassen. Op het gelijkvloers bevinden zich ook een kapsalon en kinesitherapieruimte op het lager gelegen gedeelte van het gelijkvloers met uitzicht op de tuinen. Het rusthuis beschikt tevens over een grote aangelegde tuin. De residentie streeft naar openheid en verbinding met de buurt en de omgeving waarin ze is ingeplant

D’autres, orientées à l’est vers un quartier à vocation résidentielle, offrent un caractère plus calme et apaisant. Différents espaces communs sont présents à chaque niveau, dont le principal, dénommé Grand Café, accessible non seulement aux résidents, mais aussi aux habitants du quartier, constitue le poumon vital de la résidence.
Ces espaces, qui remplissent un rôle social et récréatif, bénéficient tous de terrasses généreuses. Un espace dédié à un salon de coiffure est prévu au rez-de-chaussée, ainsi qu’un espace kiné au rez bas, avec prise de jour vers les jardins. La résidence dispose également d’un vaste jardin aménagé. Elle se veut ouverte et en lien avec le quartier dans lequel elle s’implante.
