Hotel des Galeries

The former Hôtel Aux Arcades, located at the corner between Galerie du Roi and Rue des Bouchers, was renovated as part of a wider redevelopment project of the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert. The building was classified as an historic monument by Royal Decree in date 19/11/1986. It was listed for its facades (dating 1847), its roof and certain parts of its interior. The Hotel and the Comptoir des Galeries now offers 20 rooms and 3 duplex suites across 4 floors.

The hotel has been restored to highlight its original elements still present: its original flooring, framework, exterior woodwork, hardware stores and the original staircase. The rooms are positioned towards the Gallery while the circulation zones are at the rear of the building in order to preserve the building’s characteristics and the view from the gallery. The restaurant is located in Rue des Bouchers, 36. The glass canopy runs alongside the patio connecting with the area where the old medal press can be found. This is located on the ground floor at the back of the building, as it was at the time of the engraver Hart. This allowed to identify and highlight the building’s old blue stone arches.
